Why did I start blogging?

I started blogging for 3 main reasons.

1) To keep track of what I was doing. I use my blog not only as a journal but also as a to do list and milestone tracker. I can look at all the posts tagged “Crafting” for example and see about how long it took me to get each crafting level.

2) I’m in a couple of different clans and RS communities. Having to maintain a goals thread in each one was a pain. So I created the blog and put the link in my sig line.

3) I wanted to write about what I wanted to write about (rants, guides etc) without having to follow someone else’s format.

What you get out of it?

I mostly do it for me. Sometimes I’ll go back and see how I did something. Sometimes I just laugh at my rants. I also can refer people to my posts instead of having to explain it to them.

Tips to players who also wish to blog for runescape?

Have fun.
Play with your layout
Link to other bloggers and they will link to you.
Put your comments on moderate. Why? Because my blog serves as my RS mailbox too. Friends leave me notes, announce 99 parties etc. Best way to track me down w/o having to share personal details.
Talk about how and why. Focuse less on who what where when.
