Ok. So I messed around and am posting this late. Basically, I just was waiting to see if I had anything special to post but I dont' really. So let's get on with it.

I finished the Elite Ardougne tasks and used them on Summoning. After pushing hard for my last level I realized how incredibly expensive it is. Fast, but still expensive.

Did some melee work and got 86 Attack, Defense and Strength. Then worked on mining. I'll admit, other then some fooling around in the new Living Caverns I haven't mined anything but stars in the last 10 levels. And I was reminded why. It's soooo boring but you still have to pay attention. I finally just went to the living caverns and mined there. At least that was bearable. Slow, got hit in the head with a few rocks but ended up with 88 Mining.

And that ends year 3 with 2145 levels and all diaries and quests done. What to do in the next year? No idea. There's no 99 I really want at the moment. 96 Summoning looks good. Kind of want 91 RC. 90 Mining would be good for stars, but nothing really exciting.....yet.

Restocked my dwindling rune supply. Chopped some trees. Did the circus. Discovered a number of odd items in my bank that I either sold or dropped. Realized that I hit the 100,000,000 xp mark yesterday. All in all a pretty good March.

Ended the month at 2057 with 2 skills at 97 and 1 at 96.

Goals for next month:

12,950,000xp Hunter
97 Agility
92 Woodcutting
95 Firemaking

Some other stuff to make it 2070 total.

Someone asked me how I spent my lamps and experience tombs. All on summoning. It is by far the most expensive skill to raise. Since it's come out I've used all my laps, quest rewards, and penguin points on it except for 2 weeks of penguins and a WGS lamp on rc and one on construction. That would also help explain why my summoning is so high even though I rarely do combat.

Grabbed 2 hunter levels to end up at 88 Hunter for the month. (2038 total). Barely did anything I set out to do this month but not worried about it either.

For March:
97 Farming

Some other levels in the hopes of getting over 2050.

Gotten back into the rhythm of working again so I think my 'scaping is going to go back to normal too. Kind of too bad because I was really making progress when I had all day to play. Also, now I understand how people can no-life certain skills and get a 99 in a month. Personally, I don't have what it takes to do that. Neither the focus nor the ability to no-life.

This month going to work on hunting. I did some hunting over the weekend and it was a pain. Hope hop, hunt, idiot, hop, hunt, idiot, idiot, cookie break, idiot.

Idiots I met this weekend:

1) The guy who killed all the red chins. He said someone told him red chins were good range xp. He thought it meant killing them was. I tried to explain to him how red chins were good range xp but did me no good. When I wouldn't give him any food (who has food w/them when hunting red chins?) he left.

2) The guys who wander in and ask for red chins and annoy you. I think these guys are related to the guys who stand in banks screaming that they have no money but are willing to pay 1k for a law rune.

January 31, 2009

January ended well with 83 Woodcutting to bring the total to 2023.

So now is the usual goals discussion.

Only goal I missed was 96 Agility. Got all my other ones this month plus the adze plus a bunch of other levels. So pretty happy with that.

February I want:

And some other random stuff to end up at at least 2040.

October 23, 2008

On the 22nd I got 80 Construction. Realized I had plenty of ores to level smithing so I just went all out on oak larders.

Today, got to 80 Smithing. Also, have a ton of mithril bolts :D.

So that concludes the goal I set out at the beginning of my 2nd year (with 8 days left). All skills are at 80. I don't include summoning because summoning wasn't out at the time.

Now, having said that, I worked a bit on summoning today. I had a made a bunch of different pouches to experiment with summoning. Cashed in a lot of them today along with 100k. And what did that get me? About 20k summoning. This is going to cost a fortune.

Here's a trick I learned though: Using a spirit terrorbird I take out everything I need to make pouches plus 5 pouches or scrolls to trade in. I make the pouches and cash in what I want. That opens up 5 spots which allows for easier swapping out with the terrorbird. Plus, it provides me some of the shards I need.

Also, found all my penguins.

Getting closer to my big goals but time's running out.

So here's the goals for this month:
80 Runecrafting (77 currently)-bloods to 78 and then ZMI/Bloods to 80.
80 Smithing (78 currently)-have enough banked for 79 and beyond but probably not 80.
80 Construction (76 currently)-mithril armorstands. More xp per plank and need help w/smithing
82 Cooking-I need some more food
93 Farming-Monthly farming level
90 Agility-Just because
70 Summoning-Montly summoning level
84 Crafting-Cause my battlestaffs will get me there
1 other random level since that will get me to 1950 which would be pretty good for my 2 year anniversary.

Back from a little work related trip and screaming at the Olympics. I agree with G in the comments.....Trampoline is pretty cool. And Team Handball....why isn't that popular in the US? It's got a ball and full contact. It's like playing soccer with basketball rules and football contact....what more do you need?

It's that time again. The time to make unrealistic goals for the month. It's not that I couldn't make the goals if I wanted to, it's that I get distracted and go do other things for a bit.

Did my usual routine. I think on weeknights this will be most of my RS time. Had to tele through my house 2x (1 varrock, 1 ardy) and used those trips to bury dragon bones at my gilded altar. 76 Prayer! That's 1848 total.

Ran out of caviar so ended the night with about an hour worth of fishing. I think I've mentioned it before but I'm racing a friend to all skills (but summoning) to 80.

April 6, 2008

Did the math. Gilded altar makes complete sense. So I bought the supplies needed. Now to get the levels.

Spent a bit of time on it today. Got to level 68 Construction. 2 more to go. I want to get construction to 70 just to say all my skills (except summoning of course) are at 70 now. Maybe even 71 now that I think about it.

Anyways, did a bunch of herb rounds. Finally got my bank back in order. Sold off a lot of random stuff (note: Dwellberries sell really well as do low level seeds.) Went from no room in my bank to 4 free rows. I thought it would take forever to fill all that bank space they gave us a few months ago.

Oh and my goals for this month:

1820 levels
79 Slayer
79 whatever other combat skills will go up with slayer
71 Construction

I'm working on a new daily routine and weekly plan. I'll post it when I get it more formulated. Farming passed Agility as my highest skill. I miss agility. I want to work it 1x a week just for the fun of it.

So much done today.

Finally got the cash together to buy Guthans!! Check that off the list. Had enough left over to buy dragon boots. Only can afford the lowest price on GE but I have a week so no rush there. Just so happy about the Guthans. Price dropped nearly 2.5 million since I first planned this out. Had about 300 battlestaffs so I made a bunch of cosmics, air orbs, high alch blah blah blah. Also went through my bank and sold all kinds of stuff. Tons of stuff. Have enough cash left over to function for a bit.

Side note: Who are you people who pay 163 gp each for pineapple? Arhein sells them for 2gp each in Catherby. (Yes, you can only get 80 a day that way but still.) If you are low level and need cash go get some pineapples. Heck, pick them for free in Karamja. (And if you want even more cash take those pineapples to a compost bin and make super compost, each pineapple is worth 500gp with that plan). Also found out that marigold seeds are only 75 gp each but marigolds are 3475?!?! Really? Again, marigolds are about as low level farming as you can get. They take 15 minutes to grow. If you take my pineapple advice pop a marigold into the ground every time you deal with your compost.

Anyways, back to the story. Made a few cannonballs while waiting around to get energy back to do air orbs.

Got 81 Hunter!! And my friend Hell told me where to find a dragon and magpie impling. Came running and was rewarded with 3 glories & 3 rings of forging. Caught another magpie later on and came up with a runewarhammer. This is why I've been working hunter!! (Yes, I potted up to catch the dragon. Keeping the pot on me. Hopefully I'll get 83 hunter before I use up the other doses :P)

Also tons of rc, mage and crafting xp today.

Doesn't look like I'll make any of my goals for Feb. But I'm happy I got the Guthans and I'll be satisfied with the month if I get to 83 hunter!

Finally got to 67 thieving.

I'm reconsidering maybe getting all my skills to 65 instead of 67 for October.

The reason? Well 2 fold really.

1) The new quest requires 72 woodcutting. I really want to have all the quests done and since this one sounds like it has a pretty decent reward....

2) I'm pressing too hard to get levels. I'd like to do some more of the little mini-quests/games.

And on that note:

Does anyone know where I can find a list of all possible achievements in RS? I don't mean just getting 99's. Stuff like Cat Training Medal, White Knight Master, Fighter's Torso, Rogue's Armor.

I know I saw a list on Tip.it or one of the other sites not long ago.

What Is A High Level

With the introduction of the ZMI altar I've been hearing a lot about it being not for high levels, it is for high levels blah blah blah.

So what is a high level?

In RS there are 3 levels that a person can work have.

1) Combat level. This is the number over your (and everyone else's) head. It has two functions. Some quests require a certain combat level (Dream Mentor) and it determines who can fight you in the wildy. This is also the only level that you can "fake". By which I mean, you can manipulate the way the game calculates this level to give others an artifical idea of what your abilites are.

2) Skill level. Ok here's where it gets interesting. I think we can all agree that 99 is a high level :D. I know people who think high level is 80 or above. Really? 80 or above farming, herblore, or runecrafting....heck...I'd give you high level status at 70.

3) Overall levels. Ok....look....1800 levels I would say is high. My friends who have 1800 say 2000 is high. My friends with 1000 say 1400 is high. Total level seems to be very relative. But let me just point out something. 80 times 23 is 1840. I would argue that 80 is high level in any level. Therefore, 1840 seems a reasonable number to peg as high level. (Yeah yeah I know, most people don't keep all their skills even. But for the sake of argument.....)

What's my point in this? None really. Other then high level is very relative. And, I think, unreasonable.

Most people who play RS aren't hard core forum readers. They are casual 5-10 hours a week type of folks. And for them level 50 is high level. I know what it took me to get my levels and I have a pretty fair idea from simple math (total xp for level/xp per hour) what it takes for others to get their levels.

I'd be interested in hearing what others think are high levels for skills and overall.

I'm working on this little side project for my 2nd year goals. In the process of putting that together I've put together this post. They are not related directly but when you see my little 2nd year goals project this will make more sense.

Had to work a lot the last few days and didn't have time to post. Had a bunch of free time today while sitting in front of a computer on call.

Worked out well.

Thieving to 66. Herblore to 62 (that was a few days ago though :D)

Getting everything to 67 is going to be tricky by Halloween. Especially slayer and herblore. They take a lot of time (herblore because there's so much to collect, slayer cause...well...it just does).

My goal this week is to get 67 thieving and smithing. Then make about 2k deaths and get to 71 mage using the deaths on my slayer tasks. If the new quest comes out this week I'll do it. I'll plant a few herbs too. Then over the weekend I'll work on runecrafting seriously.

Next week the big push will be on for herblore. Then slayer/prayer and that should get me there.

Goals

I ended September with 1536 levels. I need 25 levels to get everything to 67 (except construction). So simply put, my goals are to get everything to 67 and then start working the combat skills to 70. And to get total level to 1575.

Super Simple.

September Goals

Here's what I set out for in August:
All skills to 62
1500 total levels (need to get 60)
Unlock all the Hot Air Balloon Routes
Not fight with any clanmates :D

3 skills (herblore/prayer/slayer) are not at 60. Between those 3 I need 5 levels. But I did take a few skills well past 62 (hunting, firemaking, fletching and a few others). Making 62 in those 3 would have really been a stretch.

1504 total levels! (Over 60 levels gained!!)

Only unlocked 1 balloon route.

Fighting with clanmates..... :D

Keeping in mind my larger goal (all noncombat to 70/combat to 67) September will find me:

Been very busy in RL and not had much time in RS.

Got 60 Herblore earlier in the week. That gives me 60 in everything but construction.

Getting working on all skills to 70+. Currently working on Slayer/Range/Mage

Trying to figure out the fastest way to level prayer and herblore without buying a bunch of stuff. (As a principle I don't like to buy mass quantities of anything as I think it encourages the wrong kinds of things.)
