Haven't been posting much. Been heads down in skilling.

Been doing bits of dungeoneering with friends and my melee skills are slowly working toward 99. Bound a primal battleaxe 100k xp short of 99 Attack. So went and found all of Clarence and been killing the various creatures in the artisan's workshop. I remember trying to find all of Clarence right after it came out. And how much I struggled and kept getting poisoned. I went this time and it took 15 minutes and wasn't any problem. Amazing what a few hundred levels (and 2 years of updates) can do.

Otherwise been working Smithing (June 27 for 97 and July 9for 98) via Artisan's Worskhop. It's expensive and not especially fast (nor especially slow) and it's one of the requirements for the Trimmed Completionist cape. No idea if I will ever go for that cape but figured I may as well get this out of the way if I ever did.

Also got a champion tacklebox. Not a huge deal but I really enjoy fish flingers. It (along with some penguins and trolls) got me to 98 Fishing.

I've been maxing out my assists since effigies came out. If my friends didn't need one I would go looking for a runecrafting assist. That finally resulted in 99 Runecrafting.

So my plan is to throw penguins and trolls at Fishing (slow, boring), do construction assists nightly (expensive) and then work my other skills in between. Looking forward to 99 smithing in a few days.

1.5 million xp so far this month and not a single level. Been working on Slayer with some thoughts towards bonus xp weekend.

Normally I'd say I'm doing an expensive skill that doesn't have any other way to get a bonus modifier (ie stealing creation tools or similar). But the only one that really fits the bill is herblore. I need 1,000,000 xp for 99. That's about a month's worth of assists. Plus, I have herbicide from dungeoneering and effigies I'll be getting still from slayer. So overall, this just doesn't excite me. But I am low on super anti fires and sara brews so I may take a handful of each. Looking at circus, herblore and then a lot of thieving. I can push to 99 on bonus weekend but I like the idea of going outside. It's not out of the question though since we're supposed to have lousy weather here this weekend. Once I get down to 1.1 (and start to hate thieving) I've got some raw rocktails to cook up. Only other skills that I would consider are mining and fishing but I think by the time I get down the list to them I'll be done.

I did try out herblore habitat on Friday. Hadn't been there yet and since it combines 3 of my favorite skills I wanted to try it out. I think I caught on pretty quick. Growing the hunter potion really slowed me down but I used the time to get more familiar with the game. Other then the potion giving bonus farming herbs is there any potion from there that I should really keep?

Just rolling along. Went back to work yesterday (new job and all) and I have to say.....it's wrecking havoc with my skilling, but I guess I should pay the mortgage and all that good stuff.

Anyways, been mainly doing my daily rounds and hunting. By the time I start hunting it's pretty easy to find a decent spot. I think that it's a well thought out skill, the higher your levels the faster it goes. Just wish they'd come out with something for high levels to hunt that are as good as red chins (money and functionality wise) so that some of the pressure is taken off that area.

On Sunday I hosted a non-combat stealing creation game. Invited some friends to invite their clans and we got 35 people to show up over 2 hours. The first one or two games were a little crazy since some people had never played. After that though you could see that it was going to go a lot faster. I think the last game was 15 minutes instead of the usual 20. (If you've never done non combat SC it's pretty simple. No stealing, killing or barriers. Just grab and process clay as fast as you can. Games end when all the clay is picked up.)

Going to host it again this weekend, Sunday afternoon/evening. PM me in game if you're interested. (No, I won't post it here since I don't want to be crashed.)

Made it to 7,000,000 agility. I can easily clear 45k an hour at Goblin with 55k an hour if I pay attention. That's a lot better then I've been getting at Ape. I'm not saying that this is true for everyone, but for me I've tested it enough to know what I'm going with.

Otherwise, it's stars, farming rounds, battlestaffs, jade vine and bork.

Did the new quest (In Pyre Need)

Easiest quest. Ever. Any and all.

Loved the xp reward (41k total) for 5 minutes of work that didn't cost me anything.

I liked the 5k experience for killing the Phoenix the first time.

I'm not interested in doing it daily. I might someday but for me the combat is a headached and the XP isn't that great for what it distracts me from.

Cashed in my penguin points and made a few pouches and got to 82 Summoning.

September 3, 2008

Finally got to 76 Runecrafting. Been down with a cold so not much gaming time.

Tried out the new distractions and diversions quite a bit the last 2 days.

Circus: Love it! Pay attention to the audience and do the max (10) emotes. Good xp pay out on this for very little time. Free range, mage and agility xp.

Penguins: Good xp but pretty annoying. Found 9 of the penguins over 3 hours. Might get easier as I get used to it but found this pretty annoying. The hints are terrible. And the clan chat I was in to help was very hit and miss.

Star Hunting: Kind of enjoying this. Have to work as a team. Good mining xp. Can accumulate 200 stardust a day and cash it in.

A little loss as to what to do now that I hit my goal.

Tried Knight's Wave a couple of times. I'll leave that alone awhile longer. Could get about 1/2 way through the final knight before I died.

Decided that I'm going to just run a daily route of buying stuff, making some air orbs and working agility intensely until Summoning comes out.

80 Agility tonight.

November 13, 2007

Ran a bunch of errands. Did a level 1 clue scroll and got a blue skirt (t). Picked some berries, dealt with my jade vine etc. Got to 67 Herblore from my white berry pickings.

Spent the rest of the evening in Mort'ton. Used up all my tarromin and started making sacred oils. Going to stay put til I hit 70 Firemaking or I go crazy. I've got a couple hundred keys so far, so I guess there will be a big day of just running around checking the chests.

November 11, 2007

Had a busy weekend.

Did a little PC. Got all of 10 PC points. And 69 Strength! I still don't like PC. Mainly because I never did before. I think it's because I like being a general skiller and PC doesn't help that at all. I'll probably spend some time there with clan events but not beyond that.

Decided to get 250,000 agility xp a week. So I'll start on Fridays at 8pm and just ook ook my way to 250k. This weekend got 77 and 78 Agility.

Finished my agility goal. Then did a little farming. Did my usual allotment farming/coconut gathering and got to 69 Farming.

November 8, 2007

Runecrafted Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Finally ran out of essence and started on Shade Burning. Got to 68 Firemaking.

It's not the fastest experience but in my last few days of shade burning I've managed to get crafting, herblore, firemaking and prayer xp. Not huge for any but very cheap and very consistent.

Tried Barbarian Assault for the first time. Fun, not too complex. Had a good team. Killed the queen. Love belonging to a clan for stuff like that. Makes it easy to put together a team to do what you want.

October 31, 2007

Let's see here....killed the jade vine....sorted a few things out in my bank. Bought a lava battlestaff (50k in case anyone cares).

Got to 68 Fletching by using up what was sitting in my bank. (And created more bankspace in the process). Made about 1k laws and hit 67 Runecrafting. And supplied myself with enough laws for quite some time.

That brought all my skills up to at least 66 for the end of my first year (as always, excluding construction.) 1575 total! I didn't think I'd make my total goal for October as I slogged through the prayer and herblore levels. But I picked up a little steam near the end and just eeked through. Didn't get everything to 67 like I wanted but can't complain.

Ended the night by finishing gathering the Ghostly Robes. And while I was out visiting one of the ghosts I found myself at a completely and totally deserted mage arena. Took advantage of that situation to get my Claws of Guthix!! Thought about getting the other staffs but honestly....I need a staff stand in my player owned house before that happens. Bank space issues. Sigh. Anyways, finished getting the Robes. Which then meant I got to pay a visit to the Varrock Museum and get 153 Kudos. Which gave me a 10k lamp (spent on Prayer). And I talked to the Information clerk (a very nice lady may I add) who gave me 5k xp in a herblore/prayer/slayer/smithing and hunter. Pretty pleased about that as at least 3 of those skills are pretty hard to work.

One of the things I do when I'm sitting at the bank is look for small merchanting opportunities. I rarely have 1k of anything and if I do I have a purpose for them. But I can do pretty well selling people 1-10 laws at 500-1,000 gp each and so on. My 'style' of play lends itself well to this aversion to merchanting I have. I use my kingdom to gather items to sell. I try to merchant one batch of items a week (meaning selling off 10k coal in a shot or 4k flax). That's pretty much it. Sell off enough to reinvest in my kingdom (and honestly, I always make a small but not insignificant profit that way). Otherwise, I may spend 50k-60k if I'm recovering items lost in death or buying battlestaffs. But otherwise, I don't require a lot of cash.

October 21, 2007

Took it easy this weekend. Mostly worked on cleaning up my bank.

Worked a lot of skills in little ways. Attended a couple of clan events. Started on finding all of Clarence. Got a foot, 2 arms and a torso. Maybe a leg too. Can't really remember.

Got 63 Herblore! I'm really pleased with that since I can make my own super restores. I think I may have enough herbs and vials to make it to 66. Maybe.

June 11, 2007

Finished at Mogres. Very peaceful. Jumped into the fairy ring to hit the bank in Zanaris. Very NOT peaceful. The Impetous Impulses hunting minigame was released today. Chaos in Zanaris when I stepped in there. Of course, I had to see what was going on. Grabbed my butterfly net and headed to the wheat fields.

Did not like this game at all. Caught about a dozen imps and gave up. At my level of hunting (50 ATM) this isn't fun. I don't like butterfly hunting and I didn't like this.

Gave up and went and got another slayer assignment. Blue Dragons. So off to Falador/Taverly. Recharged a glory amulet for a friend and went up to Burthorpe for some reason.

Then to the blue dragons. I am banking all the bones and hides so I'm not killing very fast. On the other hand, if I ecto what I should end this with I'll have two more prayer levels.

Got to level 59 Defense. Then went and fletched some logs and hit 53 Fletching. Got in some HP and Slayer xp today too. Plus, a bit of strength just to stay in the HS.

Still can't decided if I want to shelve going for the quest cape and focus on something else for awhile. Only 9 more quests to go. The combat 85 is the killer. The rest....not too worried about. Still thinking.
