I love that leprechauns are now smart enough to note cleaned herbs.
And have you ever noticed that the various RS farmers (the ones you can pay to watch your plots) are usually scantily clad? Just an observation.
Got 98 Hunter last night. Next level is 1million xp+ away. Sigh. It really does give me perspective though on my early hunting days when I struggled for 2k xp hunting birds and thought it was a big accomplishment when I could get that much in an hour. (Remember, early on if you're hunting birds you get that one snare. And you set it up, and wait. And then it falls over, so you set it up again. And wait.)
Still waiting for results from the Jagex Cup. I'm assuming they are waiting for all 3 cups to finish before they announce results. Not pleased since they did say earlier that the first set of scores would be published when they were compiled.
Going to work on agility mainly this weekend. Hoping but not very hopeful that I'll pick up a farming level this month.

Yesterday I got 97 Farming. Was just going to take it easy and get it whenever, but when I saw that I only needed another 2k I couldn't help myself. Off to Mrs Winkin's farm. For those of you who are wondering, vinesweeper is not great xp. But it's faster to get 2k there then to wait for my herbs to grow.
Then today I got into a great hunter rythym and before I knew it 97 Hunter!
Which means that for the first time in a long time I'll have actually reached my goals for the month!
Now to figure out what to do in April.

Great couple of days.
Got to 89 Woodcutting on the 27th thanks to an Evil Tree. I think Jagex really thought through the Stars and made some changes that make the evil trees a great little distraction. Not saying it's great xp but it's not bad. And the leprechaun magic I love! That and it's another way to get seeds so I'm happy with that.
Then I hit 96 Hunting on the 27th as well. Just hitting recd chins. Found a great spot that I can easily get over 300 an hour.My goal for this month was 97. Not sure I'm going to make it but I'll be close.
Then went to kill Bork and got to 82 Defense and 82 Attack. So that brings all my combat related skills up to 82.
2055 total. So I at least reached that part of this month's goals :D

Made it to 95 Hunter on Friday. Had a pretty busy weekend with a friend getting 99 Slayer and real life stuff. Pretty much worked on restocking my food supply, making some pouches and herb farming.
This week I'm going to try and hunt quite a bit. The first week's skill for the Jagex Cup is being announced on Sunday. Once that is announced I'll be working that skill pretty hard. But I'd like at least 2 more hunter levels before that happens.
And farming is incredibly slow right now. Doing lots of herbs and trees. Don't have a lot of fruit trees. 97 Farming is looking like April now.

Got to 94 Hunter on the 13th. Tried to hunt on Saturday and it was a frustrating exercise. Decided I was happy, for now, with 94 Hunter.
For the last week I've done nothing but hunt. The only time I left my hunter spot was to restock on pouches and such. Got about 2.3 million xp. Not bad. In terms of hours that was about. Averaged about 400k a day. Most days that worked out to about 80-100k an hour. Some hours I was more serious then others etc.
Anyways, hunting was a pain on Saturday so I decided to help a friend learn to hunt. She was appalled by how bad the behavior is at the red chin grounds. She obviously had not read my blog at all this week :D. Went and did my bork/battestaffs/jade vine thing. Then I went farming. Hadn't farmed in a week and I was way off my usual stridge. Forgot things, confused myself. Didn't check my kingdom for the last 2 weeks so I have plenty of trees to plant now.
After I did that decided to get a runecrafting level that I was nearing. After about 2 hours of rc I decided that I could get faster xp hunting penguins then I could runecrafting. So off to penguins. Then back to the ZMI. Finally got to 82 Runecrafting. I would suggest that if you use the ZMI to fill up your bank to max. Take out your pouches, all your astral and law runes. Then you can just bank all instead of clicking on each rune. By taking all the keys off my key ring and making a bunch of unfinished pots I was able to max out my bank.
Then a friend of mine was working on prayer. Since he was keeping his gilded altar lit I decided to use it to get to 83 Prayer!

93 Hunter. Definately feels like I'm running downhill now. You know, the farther you run the faster you go? It's getting that way with hunter. Going to keep pushing it until Sunday then probably take the next week off to work on other skills a bit.

Forgot to post 91 Hunter, got 92 Hunter last night. I've finally found a spot that's quiet, fast and out of the way of the Idiotpalooza that tends to be around hunter. Honestly, it's not as bad as I thought it would be. Maybe because I've moved out of the way.
I will say this though. I try to be helpful. As much as I grouse about it I'll give directions or explain (to an extent) what I'm doing. However, I'm fundamentally lazy. And if I can't understand someone or I know that they are intentionally being a distraction/idiot I'll just ignore them.
And by the way: Looks like Jagex just announced the Jagex Cup. Not on the front page, but if you look in the forums.Scroll down. Keep going. Get to the clans section. At the bottom. Jagex Cup!!!!!

Grabbed 2 hunter levels to end up at 88 Hunter for the month. (2038 total). Barely did anything I set out to do this month but not worried about it either.

Gotten back into the rhythm of working again so I think my 'scaping is going to go back to normal too. Kind of too bad because I was really making progress when I had all day to play. Also, now I understand how people can no-life certain skills and get a 99 in a month. Personally, I don't have what it takes to do that. Neither the focus nor the ability to no-life.
This month going to work on hunting. I did some hunting over the weekend and it was a pain. Hope hop, hunt, idiot, hop, hunt, idiot, idiot, cookie break, idiot.
Idiots I met this weekend:
1) The guy who killed all the red chins. He said someone told him red chins were good range xp. He thought it meant killing them was. I tried to explain to him how red chins were good range xp but did me no good. When I wouldn't give him any food (who has food w/them when hunting red chins?) he left.
2) The guys who wander in and ask for red chins and annoy you. I think these guys are related to the guys who stand in banks screaming that they have no money but are willing to pay 1k for a law rune.

85 Hunter. Took me awhile to get back into it. Went to a friend's event at Puro Puro. Gave up quickly on the high quality implings and just started grabbing everything I could. Found an eclectic impling spawn and just stood there and grabbed them. Got a lot of really great useful stuff.......not just from the eclectics but the others as well. Didn't hit the jackpot with anything super fancy but did get a lot of useful stuff. And made a mess of my bank.
Then spent the evening catching boom squirrels. Once I remembered how to do it (for speed and location) it went a lot faster.

Made it to 84 Hunter last night.
Tonight hit 82 Fletching. Normally I don't like to fletch but I had a lot of reading to do for work. So I fletched. Not quite as easy as fishing to multitask but not bad. Read for 15 minutes then chat a few then read the next section etc.
I'm overdue to write a guide. Not sure what guide I want to write though. Been spending a bit of time on the RS forums seeing what people are asking. There's a lot of good content there, well thought out. Then there's the posts asking "how do I make money" or "what should I kill". Well, I'd suggest before posting that you should probably look around the forums as guides for just about everything exists. Most of the guides I read were pretty good. I wouldn't agree with them all but that's more a difference of style (do you want to get rich or level fast or ??) then anything else. I did read some appallingly bad guides that gave terrible advice. Sometimes I'd comment, sometimes not. Really though it was quite good.
Been finding a star everynight. I even got the finder's bonus (6075xp) for one today. Getting close to leveling a lot of skills.
Going to work thieving for the next few days I think.

Finally 83 Hunter.
Ran a bunch of errands to get things recharged, bought, sold, charged, whatever. Took forever. Made about 300 cosmics and another 300 laws. Not much leveling but lots of xp all over the place. Cleaned out about 2 rows of stuff.
I could use some more fish but oh well. Went and got myself switched to lunars. So for the next 31 days it's all Lunars. Hmmm......
Started on slayer. First up finish the blue dragons task I've had for a month.

Made it to 82 Hunter! I like hunter if something good is on TV. Otherwise it does get a little tedious. And it attracts some odd sorts. I've had a few run ins with people that are just not what I am used to experiencing. Anyways, about 600 more red chins to go. Then I can quit hunting until the fall :D.
My list of items to get together for slayer is getting shorter. I've decided to take numerous people's advice and use lunars. I'll try to stay on it until I get all the way to 80 slayer. I can buy teletabs for the teleporting so the only spells I'll miss are telegrab and high alch. I'll work around it. Should be interesting.
I'm about 40k from leveling mage and will probably try to do that before using magic combat. Yes, I do plan to use mage for some slayer. I'll probably mess with my Burthrope tasks using Chaos (oops gotta add get Chaos gauntlets to me to do list) spells. I know most of the serious slayers I've talked to recommend against it (for good reason) but I want to use those runes on something!!

So much done today.
Finally got the cash together to buy Guthans!! Check that off the list. Had enough left over to buy dragon boots. Only can afford the lowest price on GE but I have a week so no rush there. Just so happy about the Guthans. Price dropped nearly 2.5 million since I first planned this out. Had about 300 battlestaffs so I made a bunch of cosmics, air orbs, high alch blah blah blah. Also went through my bank and sold all kinds of stuff. Tons of stuff. Have enough cash left over to function for a bit.
Side note: Who are you people who pay 163 gp each for pineapple? Arhein sells them for 2gp each in Catherby. (Yes, you can only get 80 a day that way but still.) If you are low level and need cash go get some pineapples. Heck, pick them for free in Karamja. (And if you want even more cash take those pineapples to a compost bin and make super compost, each pineapple is worth 500gp with that plan). Also found out that marigold seeds are only 75 gp each but marigolds are 3475?!?! Really? Again, marigolds are about as low level farming as you can get. They take 15 minutes to grow. If you take my pineapple advice pop a marigold into the ground every time you deal with your compost.
Anyways, back to the story. Made a few cannonballs while waiting around to get energy back to do air orbs.
Got 81 Hunter!! And my friend Hell told me where to find a dragon and magpie impling. Came running and was rewarded with 3 glories & 3 rings of forging. Caught another magpie later on and came up with a runewarhammer. This is why I've been working hunter!! (Yes, I potted up to catch the dragon. Keeping the pot on me. Hopefully I'll get 83 hunter before I use up the other doses :P)
Also tons of rc, mage and crafting xp today.
Doesn't look like I'll make any of my goals for Feb. But I'm happy I got the Guthans and I'll be satisfied with the month if I get to 83 hunter!

80 Hunter on 2/23/08. Love using 5 boxes. I remember when I started out hunting birds and how boooorrrinnngggg that was. Hunter is that rare skill that gets faster as you go up on levels and you aren't doing the same thiing the whole way.
2/24/08 81 Farming!! Just 2 more levels til Spirit Trees. I caught a gourmet impling and it had a garden pie. So of course, I used it to plant a spirit tree.
Going to push onwards toward 83 hunter. Probably going to miss all my goals for the month but if I can end at 83 hunter then I'll be satisfied.

79 Hunter. About 400 chins away from 80!
Did my usual farming/errands until after 9pm my time. That seems to work pretty well for hunting. Did a bit of monkfishing as that's the next skill I'd like to take to 80.
Less then 100k from 81 farming. Then I'll start using compost mounds and spirit seeds and see if I can get one to grow in Brimhaven.
Not going to get anywhere near the goals I set out for this month. I rarely do anyways :D.
But working on 80 Fishing and 83 Hunter while I get money together for Guthans.
No. I'm not selling red chins and fish. I need them to make my run at 80 slayer.
To make money I'm:
Using my kingdom-selling flax and maples. Only a couple hundred k a week since I use the seeds to farm. But that suits my bigger goal of farming 85.
Buying 32 battlestaffs everyday. I use these once a week to make air orbs and alch them. That's 64k gp a day. Not great I know.
I've got a third method. Still refining. Not sure what the profitability will be. Hoping it will do well. After 83 hunter and 80 fishing I'll start working it (currently collecting supplies and such). If it is successful I should have just enough for Guthans plus a little extra help towards slayer.
If that doesn't work it's off to 80 Thieving!

Made it to 78 Hunter 2 days ago. Currently real life home remodeling has me a bit distracted from RS.
Sunday night met up with some friends and hunted KBD/KQ/Chaos Elementals. I'd never fought the KBD before and had only visited the other 2 once. Nothing great drop wise but it was interesting to go nonetheless. The chaos trip was a mess because we kept running into revenants that were just as tough as the elementals.
Had an interesting chat with a friend about training. I'll roll this into one thought as there are a number of things I'd touch on here.
I think anyone who has played RS for awile has experienced this. You are standing in a bank or you get a PM that says "I have million gp to spend. What should I buy?" This has always confused me. Are they really looking for a complete stranger to tell them what to buy? Do they have full barrows? Full dragon? 99 in every skill? To me, there's a lot more things I want to buy then cash I have. Ever.
So then...I fall for it. I say "Dragon bones and ecto them" or "work your lowest skill". Here's what I find happens:
1) There's a LOT of people who say "I have 70 prayer, don't need more.". That may be true in that prayers don't go higher then 70. However, 1/3 of 80 is more then 1/3 of 70, meaning each dose of prayer potions gives you more bang for your buck. And prayer lasts longer, which is handy. Is that enough of a reason to spend money raising it? That depends on your goals. Which is really what you should figure out before you start spending money.
2) The money isn't enough for something great (guthan's/dragonfire shield let's say). So they want something that will be great but for less money. Which doesn't really exist. Hence them standing there yelling or pming.
So what would I do with some extra money? Assuming that there is such a thing?
1) I don't like the idea of buying leveling supplies before 70 in a skill. Most of them level pretty fast up to that point (or around there). After that point it does change and I can see using money to buy leveling supplies.
2) I think "gear" is better money spent then supplies. If you buy something like a dragonfire shield you can use it to level faster. Then, when you are done, you have the option to sell it and recoup some of your money. At a minimum when starting out there's the need for rune axes, picks, armor etc. I like to have 2 of everything so one can stay as a bank placeholder.
3) There's nothing you are going to buy, use to level and get really rich. Maybe small profit. Maybe not. Depends on the market that day. Yes, flax to bowstrings is profitable. So is making runes. But that's a lot of work. Usually that's not an acceptable answer.
4) There is NOTHING wrong with saving your money. I had a few million and noticed that the price of dragon bones had dropped on the GE. By a lot. So I bought a lot. Got a level plus that way. Prices are now about 500gp higher then what I paid for mine. But to do that you have to have savings.

Sunday night met up with some friends and hunted KBD/KQ/Chaos Elementals. I'd never fought the KBD before and had only visited the other 2 once. Nothing great drop wise but it was interesting to go nonetheless. The chaos trip was a mess because we kept running into revenants that were just as tough as the elementals.
Had an interesting chat with a friend about training. I'll roll this into one thought as there are a number of things I'd touch on here.

So then...I fall for it. I say "Dragon bones and ecto them" or "work your lowest skill". Here's what I find happens:
1) There's a LOT of people who say "I have 70 prayer, don't need more.". That may be true in that prayers don't go higher then 70. However, 1/3 of 80 is more then 1/3 of 70, meaning each dose of prayer potions gives you more bang for your buck. And prayer lasts longer, which is handy. Is that enough of a reason to spend money raising it? That depends on your goals. Which is really what you should figure out before you start spending money.
2) The money isn't enough for something great (guthan's/dragonfire shield let's say). So they want something that will be great but for less money. Which doesn't really exist. Hence them standing there yelling or pming.
So what would I do with some extra money? Assuming that there is such a thing?
1) I don't like the idea of buying leveling supplies before 70 in a skill. Most of them level pretty fast up to that point (or around there). After that point it does change and I can see using money to buy leveling supplies.
2) I think "gear" is better money spent then supplies. If you buy something like a dragonfire shield you can use it to level faster. Then, when you are done, you have the option to sell it and recoup some of your money. At a minimum when starting out there's the need for rune axes, picks, armor etc. I like to have 2 of everything so one can stay as a bank placeholder.
3) There's nothing you are going to buy, use to level and get really rich. Maybe small profit. Maybe not. Depends on the market that day. Yes, flax to bowstrings is profitable. So is making runes. But that's a lot of work. Usually that's not an acceptable answer.
4) There is NOTHING wrong with saving your money. I had a few million and noticed that the price of dragon bones had dropped on the GE. By a lot. So I bought a lot. Got a level plus that way. Prices are now about 500gp higher then what I paid for mine. But to do that you have to have savings.

Only a dozen low level trees to plant in the bank. Not worth my running around for at this time. I really want to get to 83 Hunter before school lets out.
Got 3 genies last night and 2 tonight. Using it all on prayer for now.
Made it to 77 Hunter last night.
Did summoning this evening. Got 3 levels to 33 Summoning.
Made it to 78 Hunting before logging off. Finally getting about 40k an hour in xp.

80 Farming yesterday!! Just my 2nd 80 level :D. I'm planting only trees and seeds from my kingdom. I don't want to buy any because I think farming will come along fine without spending money. (And if I spend money I want to buy a bunch of d'bones and shade remains).
Haven't had much online time the last few days. I did finish the Varrock Medium achievements! That got me to 30 Summoning. Since you get more xp per tear if you have a skill ranked I decided to take a little detour and get going on this.
Realized that my February goals were a bit overboard. I want to make money for Guthans (hence the hunting and thieving). Looks like I had a little math error. Won't need all that thieving. I'm going to wait on that. With summer a few months off I want to get hunting and slaying up to 83 and 80. I think it's going to be really crowded this summer. And there's a lot of skills you can do with a lot of people around. But hunting and slayer...not really.
